The best beaches in the vicinity of Naples: where to swim and how to get

When planning a trip to Naples for the first time, travelers often wonder if there are decent beaches here. After all, this is, in fact, a port city. The Neapolitan port of Beverello, known since the time of Greek colonization (VIII century BC), today is one of the largest ports in the Mediterranean.

The port is really huge, and this can not but affect the cleanliness of city beaches. But in the vicinity of Naples there is no shortage of good and well-groomed beaches. The local coast, as well as nearby islands, are famous among lovers of a relaxing beach holiday, so among divers and surfers.

Helpful advice: Before we get to the beach overview, we recommend installing a mobile audio guide in the center of Naples for the iPhone. This is a ready-made overview audio city tour, including more than 50 objects within a single thought-out route.

All points of the audio guide are plotted on a convenient built-in map, the application works even without the Internet, and the built-in GPS will help you easily navigate between the maze of city streets. The first 5 objects can be listened to for free in the test version, and a full tour of 55 points costs only 5 Euros. It is much cheaper than even the most budgetary excursions in Naples. You can install the application on your iPhone on this page.
