Singing house

The "Singing House" (Kunsthofpassage Funnel Wall) can be seen in the Dresden student area New Town - in the "Courtyard of the Elements". The original building, painted in turquoise color, covered from top to bottom with pipes and funnels, attracts tourists - especially young people.

The author of the project was Annette Paul. She was assisted by design artists Christoph Rossner and Andre Temple. All authors themselves live in a "musical" house. According to the sculptor Anette, her trip to St. Petersburg inspired this idea. She happened to live there in a building where raindrops so emphatically pounded on pipes and iron roofs!

And in the designer's idea, the theme from a series of cartoons with Ruby Goldberg's cars, an inventor and animator, was used.

The gutter system of the "singing house" on a rainy day "plays" a peculiar melody. Sounds of different keys are obtained due to the different sizes of the elements of the drain. The wall of the building is decorated in the form of a kind of grotesque orchestra. Funny decorative pipes and flutes are made in the form of real wind instruments, twisted and woven into cunning mazes. They adorn the facade and do an excellent job with the function of the drainage system.

How do I save on hotels?

Everything is very simple - look not only at the booking. I prefer the search engine RoomGuru. He is looking for discounts at the same time on Booking and on 70 other booking sites.

Russian guide in Venice: a great expert and a nice girl

Of all the guides I have ever met, Katya, the guide to Venice, made the most powerful first impression. Having written to her about my interest in an individual tour of Venice, I was very surprised when I saw the answer in the mail after 30 minutes. And this despite the fact that he himself sent her a letter at about 10 pm.
