Mercedes Museum in Stuttgart. Cars as part of German history

The Germans value the history of their automobile brands and know almost everything about them. The country has created several museums dedicated to cars. The Mercedes-Benz Museum in Sturgart is part of the huge Mercedes World complex. The nine-story building exhibited more than 1,500 exhibits. In the center of the complex is the "atrium" - a platform around which the exhibition rows are located. The tour starts at the top level. Going down.

The nine-story building exhibited more than 1,500 exhibits. In the center of the complex is the "atrium" - a platform around which the exhibition rows are located. The tour starts at the top level. Going down a spiral, visitors can trace the entire history of the Mercedes-Benz brand.

Mercedes-Benz is part of the Daimler Group. The automobile concern since 1891 produced Mercedes. The company "Benz" since 1896 produced cars Benz. Both companies in 1926 merged into a concern called "Daimler-Benz".

The exposition opens with old models of German automobile industry products: the progenitors of modern Mercedes. Daimler's fire engine (1892) was the first gasoline fire engine. Until that moment, firefighters only rode horses. As many as seven horsepower - such is the power of the engine of a rare exhibit!

Benz Patent-Motorwagen 1886

The three-wheeled wagon of Benz was created in 1896. A four-wheel Daimler car was released that year. This slow-moving wagon emitted a characteristic knock on the move (such an engine was called the "grandfather clock").

Mercedes Simplex 1902

The oldest of the Mercedes family in the museum collection is the Mercedes-Simplex 40PS, 1902. The car could develop a huge speed for those times - up to 80 km / h. Unique exhibit - Mercedes-Benz 150H (1934). The designers of this car for the first time placed the motor next to the drive wheels.

Mercedes-Benz 770K belonged to the Emperor of Japan Hirohito - it is decorated with a memorial sign of the ruler. This car has a right-hand drive. There are also Kaiser Wilhelm II cars at the exhibition - the Mercedes-Benz 770K convertible.

Mercedes-Benz Museum

1914-45 became a period of rapid growth of the company Mercedes-Benz. Design and specifications have changed from model to model; cars became more and more perfect. In addition to the “material” exhibits, numerous historical photographs on the museum’s walls are devoted to this period.

A special stand is reserved for sports cars. Here you can see the evolution of race cars and take part in "races", sitting in the chair of the simulator cabin. "Racer" looks at the track running on the monitor, and before his eyes there is a virtual change of eras.

Mercedes-Benz Museum

A unique collection is presented by the truck room. Trucks of the prewar and war years are exhibited here. During the war years, the factories were destroyed, but already in 1946 production resumed. In 1960, the Mercedes-Benz LK 338 was released - a dump truck with a carrying capacity of 7.5 tons.

There is a separate exposition of special vehicles: firefighters and medical, rescue and cleaning. The collection of buses impresses with its variety. The tourist Mercedes-Benz O 302 of 1974 is interesting - it was released for the soccer world championship in Germany. These comfortable buses were then used for many years.

Mercedes Benz 300 S Cabriolet A 1954

At the exit of the museum is a stand with experimental machines. These are new developments of the company - Mercedes of the future.

Palermo airport and how to get to the city

A common myth: all Sicilians are mafioso, or at least do not impede the criminal activities of clans. This is far from the case. Otherwise, Palermo airport would not have been named in honor of two irreconcilable fighters against the mafia, who died tragically at her hands - judges Giovanni Falcone and Paolo Borsellino. Now their names on the plaque at the entrance to the terminal serve as a reminder to the whole world that justice exists and is inevitable.
